Education and Qualifications/Requirements:
· Associate degree (or) bachelor’s degree in any science field or equivalent experience. If the candidate is willing to be promoted to RA I, the position requires bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Chemical Biology/Chemical Engineering/Biomedical Engineering/Material Science & Engineering with 0-2 years
· Experience in communicating research findings to the in-house team members
· Work authorization in the US is required
Key Responsibilities
· Monitor and maintain chemical compound stock inventory.
· Assist in polymer aliquoting and company-wide sample distribution.
· Prepare buffers and solutions for analytical analyses.
· Generate SOPs and record QC data as required.
· Document hazardous waste in compliance with EH&S regulations.
· Routinely maintain general lab cleanliness and cultivate safe laboratory practices.
Desired Skill Sets for Lab Technician
· Experience working in a chemistry laboratory and familiarity with using sterile techniques.
Work cooperatively with multidisciplinary matrixed teams, keep detailed and organized lab records.
Ability to execute standard operating procedures with accuracy and precision.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Lab maintenance experience is a plus.
Ability to lift 25lbs with or without assistance.
Desired Skill Sets for the promotion to RA
· Highly motivated researcher with particular attention to detail and the ability to plan, design, and implement Organic/polymer reactions and analytical characterization techniques to generate impactful data.
Ability to learn new techniques/knowledge in a timely manner and apply to the needs in the lab.
· Presenting data and reports on project status at individual and group meetings.
· A team player who will enthusiastically embrace a fast-paced start-up environment.
General understanding of organic synthesis and polymer characterization techniques is a plus.
· QA/QC experience is a plus.
