Real Estate & Facilities Function
The Real Estate and Facilities Department (“REF”) is responsible for building operations, hospitality, corporate office & concierge services, campus redesign and management of Bridgewater’s real estate portfolio. REF is held to an above-industry-standard of service within Bridgewater and its members interact with the leaders of departments across the company. About Your Role
The Event Captain is responsible for the efficient and safe operations of the food and beverage services during hosted events at the Lookout. We’re seeking a polished professional and outgoing team player to work in coordination with the Chefs and Event Planner to provide the highest standards of customer service; someone with hands-on hospitality experience who will continually strive for process improvements. The Event Captain’s own schedule is heavily dependent on the ever-changing event calendar, so ideal candidates are willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes non-traditional weekday hours and several weekends a year.
You will drive the following responsibilities:
- Provide five-star customer service: ensure a welcoming environment, anticipate customer needs, and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of event details.
- Ensure food and beverage items are presented and served correctly, adhering to standards while accommodating special requests and instructions.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards including accountability to Dept. of Health/HACCP regulations, knowledge of all H&S procedures and accurate Quality Control Data.
- Ensure effective communication between Event Planner, Chefs, Customers and Clients.
- Oversees all events, is first initial contact onsite for clients and ensures the event is to the agreed upon BEO & vision.
- Coordinate with staffing vendor and ensure on-call staff delivers excellently on set vision and goals through design of efficient workflows and procedures, providing outstanding customer service.
- Coordinate with building management team to ensure smooth running of the house and ensure that all rooms, including overnight accommodations, and house inventory supplies are up to standard.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as Front of House Manager, Maître d, or Banquet Manager at high-end venues
- Personable and outgoing with a strong customer service focus; comfortable with all levels of clientele.
- Common sense thinker who can apply sound judgment in new or ambiguous situations.
- Effective multi-tasker in a fast-paced and high energy environment.
- A self-starter who is highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Team player who shares Bridgewater’s common pursuit of excellence with an understanding of top-tier service.
- Open minded, questioning, reflective, and comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning and using new software tools.
Physical Requirements
This role requires flexibility to be onsite as needed Monday through Friday each week.
Compensation
The wage range for this role is $80,000-$85,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 80% - 90% of this wage range.

For most of our roles, Bridgewater offers remote work flexibility, with most employees required to work on campus as their principal work location, a minimum of two days (and in some cases three days) per week with the option to work offsite on other days.
