Key Areas of Responsibility

Receiving - verify & inspect incoming material & documentation, process receipts, track shipments.

Shipping - prepare domestic, US & international outgoing freight IAW packaging specifications; complete documentation and labelling, comply with customs & export requirements.

Process requisitions, issue, pick, package & move material; distribute parts for customer delivery.
-
Locate and store inventory in designated & approved storage areas IAW hazardous goods and other applicable statutory regulations.
-
Inventory control functions including cycle counting, stocktaking tasks & investigations.
-
Monitor stocking levels & shelf-life inventory, review and recommend adjustments.
-
Accurate and timely data entry into the Inventory Management System to update material activity and status.
-
Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiates, attend meetings.
-
Prepare and generate warehouse reports, maintain registers, record keeping.
-
Operate delivery vehicles, forklifts and other material handling equipment (MHE); load/unload transport vehicles & containers.

General daily housekeeping to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the work areas.

Other duties as assigned by Management.

Support KPIs for the role in coordination with Warehouse Manager.

Monitor performance of the role according to the best practices in place in Industry.

Works proactively with the team to enhance performance of the Function.

Provide support in the implementation of improved SAP functionality to improve logistic efficiencies.
-
Becomes knowledgeable about company policies/procedures and continually monitors day-to-day activities for compliance. Also recommends changes as appropriate to management on policies and/or procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.

Supports activities to ensure compliance with ISO series quality accreditation and Defense regulatory requirements.

Maintain an ethical approach to tasks and relationships in accordance with relevant Thales policies.
Minimum Requirements
-
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience performing similar activities within a logistic environment.
-
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work autonomously.
-
Proven warehouse & logistics experience in a fast-paced environment.
-
Previous experience using of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
-
Able to prioritize tasks while meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment.
-
Experience with export control and permit application (EXCOL system).
-
Open minded and able to listen, share ideas while bringing added value / capturing innovation.
-
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
-
Excellent communication and people skills.
-
Familiarization with Occupational Health, Safety & Environment policies & procedures.
Key Qualifications
-
Grade 12 minimum with strong computer skills, experience with material management software systems and warehouse operations experience; and
-
Previous experience in the Defense Industry.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with SAP and specifically the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
Physical Demands
This role will be physically demanding with the requirement to lift up to 22kg/50lbs and walk or stand for the majority of the working shift.
Special Position Requirements
-
Valid forklift license.
-
Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS.
-
Valid & current Provincial driver’s license.
-
Travel will be expected between Warehouse and Dockyard as required.
Regulatory Compliance Requirements
All applicants must be able to obtain a Canadian NATO Secret clearance and meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration Program and ITAR.
