Position Description
Accounting Manager
Are you a detail-oriented, results-driven accounting professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and collaborative environment? David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Portland, OR office. This is a key role within our finance group, where you will support daily financial operations while establishing and enforcing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to maximize return on financial assets.
As the Accounting Manager, you will work closely with the Corporate Controller to ensure the accuracy of financial data, compliance with relevant laws, and the successful achievement of department and company objectives.
Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities:

Report to and assist the Corporate Controller in achieving company objectives in general and project accounting, budgeting, financial planning, analysis and financial administrative activities

Ensure the timely, complete, and accurate monthly accounting close process, including issuing financial statements and operational reports

Provide support to external auditors by preparing necessary documentation and information.

Oversee general ledger account reconciliations and ensure the completion of periodic bank reconciliations

Assist in budget preparation by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data to support sound financial decision-making
-
Assists in the achievement of department budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

Support cash management and banking activities as needed

Support and assist ASC 842 accounting with LeaseQuery
-
Serves in a support, backup and quality control for payroll activities

Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies

Resolve issues and answer payroll related questions

Garnishment processing
-
Assist with reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ADP and quarterly tax reporting

Assist with Puerto Rico and US Virgin Island filings

Assists with tax requirements of the company

Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Lead and mentor financial staff, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations to ensure team success.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Protect the confidentiality of financial information and maintain the integrity of sensitive business data.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
-
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
-
8-12 years of experience in finance, business analytics, or a related area as an Accounting Manager or Controller in smaller firm
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industry

Staff management experience
-
Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements and audits

Experience with companies that have annual revenue of $50 million plus

Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is $91,540 - $137,300, depending on experience
Office Location: Portland, OR
This is a hybrid standard role out of our Portland, OR office with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.
