Tasks & responsibilities
- As Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry you will lead interdisciplinary, highly collaborative global research teams working to advance drug discovery projects.
- You will drive drug discovery programs from ideation to development candidate, including intellectual property generation.
- This will include the analysis of data sets, design of biologically active compounds, prioritization of compound designs and coordination of their synthesis.
- You will foster team science, internally and potentially with external partners.
- In addition, you will present research findings, project updates and strategy to internal stakeholders and external collaborators.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or related fields with several years of industrial experience in drug discovery
- Proven leadership skills as project leader or as disciplinary lead in line functions. Experience with leading external collaborations is beneficial
- Experience with new therapeutic modalities (e.g. oligonucleotides) and approaches is a plus
- Team-oriented and collegial attitude with profound communication skills
- Proficient oral and written communication skills in English as well as willingness to adopt a basic command of the German language
