Academic Requirements: Masters degree required in social work or counseling
Work experience: Required - Supervisory experience required, at least two years post-graduate experience preferred. Experience implementing volunteer programs and training is preferred.
Supervises: Volunteers and interns as assigned
Summary: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment and supervision of volunteers and interns, supporting collection of goods, and providing support to programmatic functions.
Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
1.Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of volunteers and interns for the program in accordance with match requirements
2. Coordinate the placement of interns and volunteers dependent on program needs
3. Provide direct supervision to interns and volunteer as assigned
4. Assist in the coordination of community outreach events
5. Support and track the collection of goods for distribution directly to clients in accordance with need and grant match requirements
6. Track volunteer and intern hours and ensure interns access necessary supports for educational credits.
7. Develops and supports program training for interns and volunteers.
8. Develops and supports program donation efforts.
9. Creates information tracking system, and tracks collection of goods
10. Successfully recruit, train, supervise volunteers and interns
11. Regularly work evenings and weekends as assigned
12. Implement BCFS safety protocols in case of an emergency.
13. Participate in scheduled meetings and team decisions and operations.
14. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations. 15. Maintain BCFS HHS professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS System employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and always complying with required dress code.
16. Participate in weekly supervision with assigned supervisor
17. Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and other activities that promote professional growth and development
18. Travel across regions required (50%)
Requirements:
1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control and professional composure always.
2. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
3. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
4. Creates information tracking system, tracks requested volunteer information, and supports quarterly report development.
5. Identifies partners in the field and facilitates MOUs in all assigned counties.
6. Demonstrate the ability to:
- Respond sensitively and competently to the service population’s cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English. Outstanding publics peaking ability required.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure always
- Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position
- Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Actively support supervisees in professional development
7. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Human Trafficking Interdiction Division policies and procedures.
