Job Summary:
McKesson is seeking a skilled Compute Lead to design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure solutions on VMware, Azure, and GCP. As a key member of our team, you will ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure to meet business requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical innovation and business value and bring a strong background in IT Infrastructure Technology to this critical role. You will develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code environments and automate infrastructure provisioning and management. You will also ensure compliance and security of cloud infrastructure and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Experienced in Hypervisor networking & security realm – specifically VMWare, NSX etc.
- Orchestration / Automation skills: Infrastructure as Code, Scripting including Terraform, PowerShell for Windows, shell scripting for Red Hat Linux, Python, or Ruby
- Configuration management development: Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet Enterprise
- Security skills: Familiarity with both native and 3rd party mechanisms for securing data in public cloud platforms
- Experienced in RESTful API based development background with ITSM integration.
- Builds Infrastructure as Code environments for Public and Private Cloud environments.
- Builds templates for virtual machines used for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Troubleshoots advanced problems with both Production and Non-Production systems as necessary.
- Monitor system performance and reliability over time.
- Relevant experience as a systems administrator in a systems operation’s role
- Ability to work with virtualization technology.
- Experience in monitoring and auditing systems
- Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, and firewalls)
- Ability to translate architectural requirements.
- Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems.
- Knowhow to implement and control the flow of data, to and from a service provider.
- Capability to select the appropriate services based on compute, data, or security requirements.
- Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.
- Capability to migrate on-premises workload to service providers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience.
Qualifications Required:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills (Required).
- Working knowledge of VMware, Azure & GCP.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components (Required).
- Experience in migrating infrastructure and OS, Win2k8-Win2016, Win 10.
- Automation experience required.
- 7+ years of experience in a highly technical professional environment
- 3+ years of experience in delivering Software Defined Infrastructure, leveraging automation, orchestration, scripting technologies.

- Presents innovative forward-thinking concepts and technology to improve business processes
- Participates in IT strategic planning and budget planning efforts
- Contributes to our positive, team-oriented culture by developing and maintaining cooperative relationships, facilitating the resolution of conflicts, and accepting and providing constructive feedback.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
