Job Profile Summary
Provide leadership and oversight to support business segments and/or corporate programs that facilitate compliance with environmental regulations, minimize environmental liabilities and execute corporate strategies in accordance with the company mission, vision, and values.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Research and/or interpret federal, state and local environmental regulations; ensure company personnel are adequately informed of regulatory changes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ONEOK’s trade associations to understand proposed rule changes and work to evaluate potential impacts to ONEOK with the subject matter leads for that topic.
- Lead internal emerging issues program, including but not limited to, monthly leadership updates, working group sessions, environmental alerts and legal interpretations.
- Monitors pending and proposed regulation; evaluates its impact on company operations. Develop and recommend strategies to ensure favorable outcomes. Draft language and/or revisions to new and pending regulations.
- Ensures that the organization's interests are represented and protected in the development of market regulations. Prepares and organizes forums and gatherings with trade organizations to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation that may affect the organization. Acts as a resource on regulatory matters with regard to environmental regulation changes.
- Provides information and/or assistance to legislators, lobbyists, regulatory staffs, legal counsel and senior management regarding pending and proposed regulation.
- Updates existing policies, procedures and guidelines to align with new regulations.
- Partner with Operations management to develop, analyze and implement programs to meet environmental compliance requirements and minimize environmental liabilities for business segments. Serve on steering committees that develop environmental strategies and facilitate the execution of those strategies.
- Evaluate compliance efforts of local operations including participating in the Operations Compliance Audit Program.
- Develop and implement an internal compliance assessment program in preparation of internal or external audits.
- Manage the environmental compliance training program for required regulations on an annual basis. Evaluate and implement training program, materials and tracking.
- Evaluate the necessary and needed training for environmental professionals and operations. Administer necessary training on an annual basis.
Education

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, environmental, business administration, or related discipline preferred or a combination of formal education and the following job-related experience preferred
Work Experience

Experience with and knowledge of commercial, scheduling, operations and maintenance for natural gas and hazardous liquids pipelines, processing, and storage facilities.

Experience with and knowledge of applicable regulations.

Experience monitoring, analyzing, and making recommendations relative to compliance.

Experience and knowledge of applicable company programs, policies, and procedures.

Experience with project management.

Experience identifying, researching, evaluating, and prioritizing problems or specific situations, and determining appropriate action/response.
