We are currently searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant to work with our team at our Indian Land office.
The Physical Therapist Assistant works in conjunction with a physical therapist to provide physical therapy modalities and treatments for orthopedic problems as prescribed by the referring physician. Duties include:

Under the direction of a physical therapist, applies modalities including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs, whirlpool, traction, ice, paraffin, iontophoresis, therapeutic massage, and others.

Following treatment programs as established by the physical therapist, administers exercise programs and procedures performed within the department to include active and passive exercise, joint and soft tissue mobilization, and gait training. Also instructs patients in home exercise programs for all diagnoses.

Performs duties to maintain orderly department to include cleaning of treatment tables, whirlpools, and surrounding work areas, stocking of treatment areas with linen and supplies.

Supervises patient exercise programs on Cybex equipment, isotonic and aerobic equipment.

Writes daily progress notes and when necessary, progress notes to the physicians.

Education and Requirements
- Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school with an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of North Carolina.
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education in clinical areas.
- Valid driver’s license for travel to meetings and OrthoCarolina offices.
