Core Responsibilities
- Write full-stack real-time web applications that command and control real autonomous aircraft systems for group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as simulated models and more to accomplish tactical military missions.
- Collaborate with autonomy engineers to implemented production level software to control autonomous UASs.
- Implement, leverage and improve state-of-the-art web development technology for command and control of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) that to perform tactical military missions.
- Build, leverage, and improve Full-Stack web command and control applications for robotic autonomy software architectures that are deployed on real systems to accomplish military missions.
- Design Full-Stack web for command and control applications to control autonomy software in collaboration with autonomy engineers.
- Support live flight test of autonomy software on F16s, group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
- Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vehicle vendors on the integration of EpiSci autonomy software stacks onto OEM UAS hardware or command and control stations.
- Collaborate with domain experts and prior DoD warfighters (ex. DoD fighter pilots) to build software solutions for military missions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing full-stack web GUIs for command and control of robotic systems.
- Technical Requirements:
- Experience building human machine interfaces for robotic systems
- Experience working on frontend applications with data-intensive or map-based systems
- Experience with GIS (visualization) tool and libraries
- Experience with Frontend Technologies: Typescript, JavaScript, Vue, React/Redux, React Native, Android Java
- Experience with backend technologies, , python.
- Experience/interest in building front end applications from scratch.
- Experience/interest in hooking front end applications into back end stacks.
- Experience developing in Docker and containerized development environments, and using Windows, Android, and Linux-based operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Experience using git, Gitlab.
- Additional Requirements:
- Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Travel Requirements
- Must be willing to travel as projects requires. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)
- Security Requirements
- (MANDATORY) Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- (MANDATORY) Must be eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education Requirements:
- Master’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing full-stack web GUIs for command and control of robotic systems.
- Technical Requirements:
- Experience working projects related to national security for one or more government agencies.
- Interdisciplinary background, with evidence of continual learning.
