As Strategy Manager, you’ll report to the VP of Merchandising, overseeing the holistic P&L and strategy of our Havenly Marketplace. Key responsibilities include leading strategic assortment and category opportunities, guiding digital merchandising efforts, and co-owning revenue and conversion tactics. This person will play a critical role in identifying and executing a strategy to align our digital marketplace to the needs of our interior designers and clients.
The right candidate will be a metrics-oriented, strategic e-commerce leader with an ability to identify, build, and execute initiatives that optimize financial results, operational metrics, and designer / client outcomes. They will also have outstanding partnership skills (internal and external), can balance strategic and tactical work, and will quickly learn how things work at Havenly and with our partners.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the P&L and overall strategy of the Havenly Marketplace with an emphasis on growth and profitability
- Maintain responsibility for overall performance of the brand, driving towards ambitious revenue and EBITDA goals.
- Help set the Havenly Marketplace brand direction and vision amongst Havenly’s brand portfolio.
- Understand the overall customer journey, including identifying and refining the core customer, as well as expansion opportunities, to help inform marketing, merchandising, and UX decisions.
- Lead Marketplace team to execute on daily merchandise operations, vendor onboarding, and promotional strategy.
- Partner directly with the Design Services team to ensure a strategic product sales flow for design projects.
- Merchandising:
- Analyze merchandise revenue and margin performance to identify trends and opportunities for our product catalog and vendor matrix. Proactively use these insights to drive meaningful change and improvements across the business.
- Take a data-driven approach to determining product assortment and future lines of product. Identify and onboard new vendors, and ensure their continued success in the Havenly ecosystem.
- Use financial results and trend data to curate worthy and notable assortments, delivering key merchandising metrics (i.e. revenue, margin) and maintain those assortments by monitoring key operational metrics (i.e. return rate, cancel rate).
- Drive product sales and conversion through the creation of best in class product content and trainings and resources for Havenly’s designers.
- Collaborate with our Owned & Operated Product Design team to develop the roadmap for private label opportunities for Havenly Marketplace.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Collaborate with the Growth, Design Services and Sales Team to develop and execute marketing strategies.
- Drive sales growth through customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
- Analyze marketing expenditures and customer acquisition costs to efficiently grow the business.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Align our designer and customer-facing experiences with baseline e-commerce expectations, and serve as a SME on best practices as we continue to build out these capabilities.
- Oversee Vendor Scorecard to ensure strength of our external partnerships.
- Lead your team in managing product assortments on the Havenly platform with the goal of crafting a best in class e-commerce experience for both Havenly clients and designers.
- Build processes and tools in an efficient manner as the business continues to scale.
- Partner with the technology and customer service team to enhance customer experience.
- Improve on product capabilities and operational efficiencies by leveraging technology.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and sourcing to optimize margin, inventory and distribution processes.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in business, management, or a related field; MBA strongly preferred.
- 2+ years proven experience as a category manager or leadership role within e-commerce.
- Or, 2+ years experience in strategy consulting or investment banking, with a preferred focus on consumer or ecommerce businesses
- A love of the home furnishings market, and an innate sense of curiosity about different brands within the market, as well as trends in the market
- Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, and P&L management experience.
- Executive-level communication abilities and presence.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Additional Details:
- This is a hybrid full-time exempt position headquartered in Denver, CO. The expectation for this role is that the individual will be onsite 2-3 days per week.
- Targeted compensation range for this role: $90-110K/year plus performance bonus, dependent upon experience.
