May be hired as a Construction Operator, Service Technician, or Distribution Operator dependent upon qualifications and experience. Full time. CDL-A preferred. All training provided. Hourly pay rate:
Service or Construction: $29.25 - $34.75
Distribution Operator: $ 40.50 - 42.50

Construction Operator

Primary Duties
1. Performs basic, routine work using clearly prescribed procedures. Seeks advice and guidance for any deviations from the norm.
2. Assists in the installation and maintenance of natural gas lines, meters and regulators.
3. May assist in conducting leakage surveys.
4. Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. May be required to hold stand-by duty, work shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasional extended hours.
2. Is subject to reporting outside regular work area.
3. Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues to their resolution and completion.
4. Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned Company vehicles and equipment.
5. Demonstrates support for and adheres to the Company's values, strategies, policies and procedures and learns the core values of AtmoSpirit, Customer Service, Safety and the Company's Code of Conduct both as an individual contributor, team member and/or leader of others.
6. Must become familiar with the contents of the Safety Manual, live by the spirit of its intent and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Educational/Experience Level
Requires a general educational knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Requires valid driver's license in accordance with Company standards.
Certificates, Licenses, etc.
While at this level, completes assigned classes, Operator Qualifications (OQ) and OJT specific to Construction Learning Path. Must obtain and maintain position Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position and any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications.
Computer Skills
Requires ability to utilize the Company's internet/intranet web site and available resources for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
Communication Skills
Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers in order to obtain and/or provide basic types of factual information.
Work Conditions
Works outdoors in all types of weather and may be exposed to extremes of climate and temperatures, high noise levels, rough terrain, and occasional work on ladders, roofs, attics, and under houses as well as confined spaces. May require overnight travel.
May have residence requirement due to call-out response time.
Works as an individual contributor and/or as member of a team.
Physical Demands
1. Ability to lift 88 pounds from the ground to 38 inches. (Ex: lifting and carrying a jackhammer).
2. Ability to carry 88 pounds a distance of 5 feet. (Ex: lifting and carrying a jackhammer).
3. Ability to generate 100-foot pounds of pulling force at a contact point of 25 inches. (Ex: pulling manhole cover).
4. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch.

Service Technician

Primary Duties
1. Performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures.
2. Responds to customer requests for service including connections and disconnections as becomes operator qualified.
3. Informs customer of needed repairs and answers basic questions. Ensures that customer understands and is satisfied with work completed.
4. May disconnect service as necessary and perform collection efforts on delinquent accounts.
5. Installs, programs, and operates Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment as necessary.
6. Assists with activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
7. Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.
8. May read meters and record usage for billing.

Distribution Operator
Is highly experienced in construction and maintenance, customer service and meter reading activities. Performs all of the standard and some specialized aspects of the function. May serve in a lead role in certain functions where general guidance and training of less experienced support personnel is needed. Performs such work in accordance with Company, regulatory and safety procedures. May be responsible for performing the duties on transmission and distribution systems and facilities, as applicable.

Primary Duties
Installs, maintains and repairs natural gas lines, meters and regulators. Turns natural gas lines on and off, as necessary.
Responds to customer requests for service including connections, disconnections and leak investigations.
Operates and maintains heavy and/or specialized equipment and tools in order to dig and backfill ditches load and unload pipe, meter fittings and other materials.
Reads meters and records consumption for billing. Disconnects delinquent accounts as necessary.
Assists in providing barricades and channelization services at worksites that are in compliance with Federal and state regulations and Company standards.
Assists with the investigation and resolution of lost and unaccounted for natural gas.
Performs welding operations for the installation, maintenance and repair of natural gas mains, service lines, meter guards and regulator stations.
Plans, monitors, coordinates and inspects work of contractor crews to ensure compliance with Federal, state and local codes and regulations as well as Company policies, procedures and standards.
May perform compliance related tasks such as leak survey, cathodic protection, odorization, etc.
Performs activities to ensure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies.
Completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements.

High school diploma or equivalent and
4 years total natural gas service and construction and maintenance field experience
Must have obtained Sr Level status in either service or construction and maintenance
Certificates, Licenses, etc.:
Must have and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for position.
Requires a valid driver?s license in accordance with Company standards. May require CDL, if required see Driver?s
Qualification policy.
Must obtain and maintain any other required OQs and classroom training or certifications within six months.
Must obtain and maintain a Competent Person certificate within six months.
Computer Skills:
Requires working knowledge of various software applications for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
Communication Skills:
Requires the ability to communicate with internal/external customers to obtain and/or provide explanations and/or information.
