The Position
We are bringing on a Manager for our Technical Program Management team, supporting and leading a group of amazing TPMs building excellent new products. This is an especially key role in Framework, taking on a combination of people development, process development, and product development. We’re looking for an individual who is passionate and experienced in all three of these areas. This role is also a core member of our hardware leadership team, taking ownership of a large part of driving forward our mission to remake consumer electronics.
This is a Taiwan-based role with working location flexibility from home or from our office in XinYi Dist in Taipei.
What You’ll Do
- Manage, mentor, and grow our team of Technical Program Managers based in Taiwan and the US.
- Take individual ownership of one or more hardware product NPI processes, driving it from initial concept through production and sustaining.
- Define and execute new processes to streamline hardware and software development as we continue to scale up the number of product lines we are creating and maintaining.
- Build bridges with cross-functional partners throughout Framework, running internal and external meetings to drive alignment and progress.
- Identify and mitigate risks; work to break through any technical, communication, and execution roadblocks both internally and externally to converge to development milestones.
What You Need
- 8+ years of experience managing complex consumer electronics hardware programs.
- 3+ years of experience as a people manager and a passion for supporting and mentoring individuals.
- Expertise in working with JDM/ODM/OEM partners to drive program objectives.
- Experience defining and program managing the development, test and release process for new hardware designs, firmware, BIOS, drivers and/or OS builds.
- Strong written and verbal English communication abilities and familiarity with working across time-zones.
What’s Nice to Have
- A background in electrical, mechanical, or software engineering.
- Previous experience working in a startup.
- A passion for environmentalism and/or DIY.
- Experience working as a remote member of an international team.
- Fluency in Mandarin.
