In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
As an Agent Operations Territory Lead, you will be responsible for expanding our agent network in an assigned Wave Region and supervising agents in Côte D'Ivoire. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the assigned region, excellent sales and relationship management skills, experience in agent management, and a strong interest in the field.
In this role, you will:
- Manage agent Recruitment by leading a team of agent openers who will recruit and train agents within your territory.
- Ensure agent quality by ensuring all your agents comply with all legal and policy requirements and have executed valid contracts.
- Continue to ensure agent quality by ensuring your agents are fully trained on critical elements like the Agent applications, the contents of the contract before signing, Rebalancing options, Fraud management, and many others.
- Collaborate with the BTL team to ensure all your agents are well-branded and have the necessary supplies.
- Coordinate agent liquidity management by monitoring the cash and float availability at agent locations in cooperation with our liquidity team.
- Manage risk through routine visits to report emerging issues and assess agents' performance in your territory.
- Identify underperforming agents, close them, recover Wave items and equipment, and ensure that branding material is removed.
- Be the primary contact for all agency networks acquiring and Wave products in your territory.
- Champion excellent customer service among distributors and agents within your territory.
Key Details
- Location: You'll be based in Soubré and may travel to field locations.
- You must have work authorization in Côte d’Ivoire.
- This is a permanent position.

Requirements
- + 2 years of experience managing a successful agent network in Côte d’Ivoire’s mobile money, agency banking, and FMCG sectors.
- A demonstrated ability to manage field-based operations across large geographical locations.
- Willingness to travel and spend up to 90% of the time within your assigned territories
- Being currently located in Côte d’Ivoire.
- Experience in the upcountry.
- Fluency in French and a good level of English.
