We are looking for an impact-first data and analytics lead to own analytics for banking operations. This person will drive better experiences for our members by owning call-center agent performance analytics, cost and forecasting large-volume regulatory member communications, and helping to prioritize what we build and what we fix for our members. A successful candidate will have a track record of finding a way to get something done when no clear path is obvious. They work well cross functionally, and they have knowledge from a bunch of different disciplines (visualization development, deep SQL knowledge, functional programming experience, business facing story building). A good day for this candidate is one where their work moves the business in a positive direction through building better customer experiences, lowering costs, or automating away work done by others. This will start as a senior individual contributor role and has potential for growth as the business need expands.
What you’ll do:
- Investigate and validate new data sources with differing levels of granularity
- Work with high impact SQL that has customer facing impacts
- Build pipelines to move data between databases (Python/Apache Airflow/Other).
- Own and develop a git repo of Python based automations (submitting pull requests, reviewing pull requests, investigating code written by others in a variety of languages))
- Use Tableau to develop new insights for the business: (LOD functions, parameter driven rollups, multi-sheet filtering, dynamic text, STDEV outlier driven notifications, etc)
- Analyze Looker dashboards from other teams for business insight (Drill into existing charts, pull query sources, identify gaps, etc.)
- Summarize findings and tell stories at multiple elevations.
- Salesforce chart building, data models, etc.

What we are looking for:
- 7+ years working in a highly analytics centric organization inclusive of customer interaction data and agent servicing performance analysis - Business Operations (Sales Ops/Servicing Ops), Analytics, Business Intelligence, etc.)
- Fintech and/or banking experience and familiarity with banking laws and regulations
- Expert level proficiency in any SQL dialect. Ie. ability to structure sub-queries (WITH statements, aggregations, window functions etc.)
- Experience investigating and validating new data sources with differing levels of granularity
- Experience working efficiently with large/slow datasets
- Python & Functional Programming: ie. Working proficiency with git (submitting pull requests, reviewing pull requests, investigating code in a variety of functional programming languages), Python, Pandas, Matplotlib/Seaborn, jupyter notebooks. Exposure to/familiarity with Apache Airflow, Object Oriented Programming, code debugging
- Expert level proficiency with Tableau (LOD functions, parameter driven rollups, multi-sheet filtering, dynamic text, STDEV outlier driven notifications, etc)
- Experience working with Looker (Drill into existing charts, pull query sources, identify gaps, etc.)Experience working with Matplotlib or similar (jupyter notebook driven analytics and chart creation, multiple subplots, pdf exports, formatting, etc.)Ability to summarize findings and tell a story at multiple elevations. Ability to self solve without a support network of experts or examples to build from
- Experience exploring data starting with a hypothesis and running it to a conclusion
- Operate independently without reliance on a set of experienced experts
- Experience working with executives and building high level presentations
