Qualifications:
● A demonstrated interest in government and/or public policy through academic major, prior work experience, participation in volunteer programs, leadership positions in extra-curricular settings;
● Strong research and writing skills;
● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, independently and collaboratively;
● Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
● Track and analyze policy and legislation at the state and local level;
● Identify emerging issues and political trends consistent with client interests;
● Monitor government agency meetings and public hearings and prepare briefing notes;
● Conduct legal/policy research on a range of topics, including but not limited to: real estate; labor & employment; technology; health & human services; education; energy & environment; finance; privacy & data security; and transportation & infrastructure;
● Compile regulatory and industry news updates to keep clients informed;
● Advance progress on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
