Your role
This role is for an Associate Credit Analyst who will be leading a portfolio of structured finance transactions and will work on the credit analysis of new and existing deals rated by Moody´s Local.
The role will cover different asset classes like personal lending, SME financing, and trade receivables, among others.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze new structured finance transactions to assign ratings, and review ratings of existing transactions.
- Analyze transaction documents to understand transaction structure and legal, operational, and counterparty risks.
- Analyze characteristics of underlying portfolio and performance history to derive loss assumptions.
- Apply default and cash flow modeling in line with Moody’s Local rating methodologies.
- Lead virtual and in-person meetings with originators, advisors, and other transaction participants as part of the rating analysis process.
- Present credits efficiently and accurately in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent credit rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion.
- Communicate rating rationales to investors and other market participants through rating reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Assist in producing timely and relevant research on specific issuers or sector related issues that is in-depth, high quality, informative and focused.
- Assist in rating methodology, model and scorecard updates.
- Build and manage relationships with investors, advisors, and issuers.
What you bring
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, business administration, statistics, accounting, or engineering.
- At least 2+ years of experience in Structured Finance or, or 3-4 years in credit analysis in similar fields.
- Sophisticated Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are mandatory.
- Validated and well-developed analytical and modelling skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities in Portuguese and English. Some Spanish skills would be a plus.
- Python programming & Visual Basic for Applications knowledge is a plus but not required.
