As part of our Experience Design team, you will seek creative solutions driven by collaboration, research, and a commitment to constant improvement. In this team, you will have the ability to work with design, technical, and product owners to understand the business vision and objectives to help identify opportunities for a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
The AVP – Experience Design is a talented practitioner responsible for the design and delivery of exceptional end user experiences. This individual employs a user-centered design methodology by representing customer needs throughout the full product development cycle. The AVP – Experience Design leads user experience team members in the collaboration with product strategists and stakeholders to understand business goals and translate those goals into compelling interactive experiences.
The AVP – Experience Design works in a multidisciplinary environment on user experience design activities throughout the full software development lifecycle often leading numerous design initiatives concurrently. This individual leads the design of the overall look and feel of interactive user interfaces across multiple products and platforms.
- Manage relationships with the key stakeholders and influence user-centered design practices
- Manage projects and deliverables
- Delivers the experience design of interactive user interfaces across multiple products and platforms
- Simplifies and unifies complex information into intuitive interactions, flows, charts, graphs, and other forms of visual representation
- Expert level experience designing Salesforce Lightning interfaces
- Works directly with developers to turn wireframes and other visualizations into production ready prototypes based on our established components and patterns in our design language
- Will manage, direct and mentor other junior members of the experience design team
- Performs quality assurance reviews of developed pages to ensure adherence to standards
- Facilitates feedback reviews of prototypes to validate design concepts with stakeholders and customers
- Runs workshops and design studios with stakeholders and customers
- Directly contributes to the creation of a pattern library, to maintain consistency in behaviours across multiple products
- Helps to define and champion the user-centered design methodology within the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or similar required
- Experience as an Experience Design leader for web and mobile user interfaces
- Skilled practitioner with expertise in the design, production and presentation of user interface designs that support the needs of the customer
- Expert oral, written and presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively communicate abstract concepts to audiences that are not skilled in a UX discipline
- Demonstrated experience with human-centered design patterns and methodologies, including but not limited to Salesforce domain
- Advanced knowledge of user-centered design patterns and methodologies
- Working knowledge with Agile software methodologies. Formal training in one or more recognized Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, kanban, etc.) or toolsets (JIRA, Rally, etc.)
- Comfort with ambiguity, complexity and passion for challenges
- Detail-oriented self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced knowledge of design tools such as Axure, Adobe CS or similar
- Ability to travel occasionally for workshops and meetings
The ideal candidate would also have:
- Experience in Insurance, FinTech or Financial Services, as a User Experience Designer, leading large, enterprise wide work efforts across a multi-disciplinary team
- Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$134,800]] – [[$195,550]], depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location.
