Factored was conceived in Palo Alto, California, by Andrew Ng and a team of highly experienced AI researchers, educators, and engineers to help address the significant shortage of qualified AI & Machine-Learning engineers globally. We seek an ambitious and self-motivated Software Engineer interested in joining one of our exciting projects related to programmatic advertising. You will be working in a data-intensive system handling up to 1M of requests per second across multiple data centers. The system is required to process requests in a maximum of 100ms, which includes, receiving the request, querying databases and interacting with other microservices to send the response back to the issuers. You will be interacting with a multicultural team of high-caliber engineers and across different software-related disciplines such as, Data Engineering, Machine Learning and Data Science.

What you will be doing:

- Develop and maintain existing backend services using low-level programming languages.
- Handle 3rd party API backend integrations.
- Design, build and deploy distributed systems in real-time.
- Design, Implement and test services to guarantee an accurate project Lifecycle.
- Work with agile processes focused on delivering production-ready testable code in small iterations.
- Investigate performance issues and implement fixes to the codebase and dependencies.
- Contribution to open source software to improve external dependencies.
What you must bring:

- +5 years of professional experience shipping production-ready code.
- Solid CS foundation and software engineering.
- Experience building backend/REST/SW applications using any of these languages: Golang, Kortlin, Java, Ruby, C, or C++.
- Experience with high-performance and low-latency systems.
- Strong ability to convert ideas to running code.
- Experience with Distributed systems.
- Excellent communication English skills.
