Job Description:
This position will be based in Sauk Centre, MN. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing. This position is responsible for all valve alignments (manifold and tanks) inside the terminal property to assure the proper handling, storage and integrity of products received and pumped by pipeline and truck transport.Responsibilities include:
•Perform tasks necessary for the daily operation, maintenance, and security of the Sauk Centre Terminal including the loading rack, AST tanks and dikes, terminal grounds, additive systems, vapor combustor systems, filtration systems, inventory, and product quality monitoring. Perform carrier and driver training and support. Terminal Operators often interface with and/or oversee contractors performing work at our facilities, vendors providing materials and supplies as well as local, city, and state officials performing audits, i.e., Weights & Measures, Fire Inspections, IRS, EPA and DOT auditors.
•Ensure product integrity by sampling and performing laboratory analysis of products as received and on an “as needed” basis.
•Daily walk-around inspections of tanks, pumps and all other operational equipment.
•Provide driver orientation, testing and assistance to ensure safe loading procedures are complied with.
•Maintain, Calibrate, and overhaul all additive injectors, pumps, valves, overfill, filtration systems, meters and all other operational equipment.
•General maintenance and upkeep of vapor combustor unit to include documentation of repairs per MPCA Air Permit.
•Assist with emergency response as needed with terminal and pipeline responses (cell phones assigned for after-hours calls).
•Year-round grounds and building maintenance as needed to include pumping dikes, mowing grass, weed and varmint control, perimeter fence/gate, heating and cooling units, lights, etc.
•Sampling of run-off water before discharge to meet our NPDES permit requirements.
•Monthly/ Daily gauging and meter readings.
•Maintenance on all terminal operations equipment (tractors, lawn mowers, skid steer, etc.).
•Manages and orders supplies and spare parts inventory and consumables (i.e., additives, glycol, janitorial supplies, etc.).
•Provide grounds security and maintain electronic surveillance equipment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- DOT Operator Qualification will be required following employment.
- Mechanical background preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in terminal/pipeline operations is preferred.
- Must be able to work with hazardous materials including gasoline, fuel oils and petroleum additives.
- Must be able and willing to respond to callouts and emergencies after hours including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to work hours outside normal hours as scheduled and required by management.
- Must be able to work independently as well with others.
- Must be a self-starter and willing to adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Heavy equipment experience (skid steer, plow truck) a plus.
