IT Enterprise Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Enterprise Architect to lead the evaluation, design, and evolution of our IT investments. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud technologies and will be able to recommend and implement solutions that align with our business goals and technical requirements. Responsibilities
Leads the definition, development, and implementation of corp. IT architecture within platforms to support business strategy. This includes:
Strategic Alignment:
- Work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into IT solutions and roadmaps.
- Overseeing IT's delivery of business value, ensuring that technology projects and initiatives deliver tangible benefits to the organization.
- Create and maintain a technology roadmap that outlines the adoption and implementation of new technologies to support business objectives.
Architecture Design and Governance:
- Design and document the overall IT architecture, including systems, applications, data flows, and infrastructure.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure consistency, maintainability, and scalability.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and platforms that align with the architecture strategy and meet business needs.
- Provide architectural guidance and oversight for specific projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall architecture.
Compliance and Security:
- Ensure that the IT architecture and systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, SOX, and others.
- Design and implement security measures to protect sensitive data, including patient information, research data, and intellectual property working closely with the InfoSec team.
- Identify and assess IT-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Optimization and Innovation:
- Monitor and optimize the performance of IT systems and infrastructure to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective solutions and technologies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends and assess their potential impact and application within the organization.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including business leaders, IT staff, and external vendors.
- Clearly communicate architectural decisions, plans, and rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Skills
- A solid understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases, cloud computing), software development methodologies, and data management principles.
- Familiarity with common architecture frameworks like TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) or Zachman Framework.
- Work effectively with diverse teams, including business stakeholders, IT staff, and external vendors.
- Influence and guide technology decisions, even without direct authority.
- Deep understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as HIPAA, SOX etc.
- Thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- Be willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute to implementation when needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) is highly desirable.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT architecture
- Certifications: TOGAF or other relevant architecture certifications are strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), and methodologies.
- Proven expertise in a wide range of technologies, including cloud computing, data management, application development, and infrastructure.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams to achieve exceptional results.
- Prior experience in the medical device industry or healthcare domain is preferred
A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $140,408 to $220,000 per year, cash bonus, and stock options.
