About Bitcredit Protocol

Bitcredit Protocol is a community-driven open source software project which aims to remove the biggest roadblock of Bitcoin adoption in international trade. It builds a fiat-less on-ramp and elastic Bitcoin M1 supply for the needs of global supply chains.

About The Role

As a backend software engineer, your tasks comprise the development, implementation and support of the code for the reference implementation of a Bitcoin Credit Money Mint (a so-called "Wildcat"). Initially this will be a desktop application.

What You'll Be Doing

• Write and refactor high performance rust code;
• Cover code with tests;
• Coordinate with other technical specialists (Frontend Engineers, DevOps, Testers);
• Ensure the technical quality of the entire development process, from solution design to implementation, testing, and code validation;
• Follow project plans and guidelines;
• Accurately estimate work efforts;
• Advise project and product managers, take part in planning and conceptualisation.

What We're Looking For

• Knowledge of Rust, Git, Docker, SQL;
• At least 4 years of experience in a software development role;
• At least 2 years of experience as a Rust developer;
• Familiarity with the Bitcoin ecosystem;
• Fluency in English;
• Creativity and attention to detail.

Nice To Have

• Understanding the workings of ecash;
• Knowledge of Cashu or Fedimint projects, specifically;
• Familiarity with banking or payment software;
• Experience with decentralised p2p systems;
• Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

The expected minimum salary range for this role starts at $60,000 for 40h full time.

There is flexibility upwards depending on experience level, relevant skills, and work location. Payment in Bitcoin is possible. SCandidates will be invited to participate in the project's bonus incentive scheme.

While remote work is possible, we strongly prefer candidates who can work hybrid in our Vienna Lab or are willing to relocate. Relocation assistance will be provided.
