Work you'll do
Support Global Tax - International
- Conducting primary review of international workpapers from non-US entities related to annual financial statement provision calculations.
- Conducting primary review of international workpapers related to US filings (e.g., Pillar II, Business Profits Tax, Passive Foreign Investment Company, Form 5471) with coordination of income tax compliance requirements
- Participate in tax research and planning related to international tax positions.
- Work side by side with Global Finance, Global Business, and Deloitte Member Firm professionals.
- Support Global Tax’s response to various requests to the Chief Tax Officer’s team from the Deloitte Member Firms/Participating Firms
Project management:
- Assist Senior Manager to drive, and own, various project initiatives
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of project support materials, such as project plans, tracking documents, meeting notes and status reports
Team Management:
- Experience working in a team environment
- Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development
- Willingness to share learnings and best practices across the broader team
- Able to take a lead role to support and informally counsel Analyst level employees
- Ability to work and interact with Canada and India Tax and Finance counterparts at Management levels
The team
Global Finance provides the most cutting-edge and insightful research and analysis of the financial health of the entire Deloitte organization around the world. We advise, guide, and monitor global initiatives in five major areas: tax, member-firm reporting, finance and accounting, strategic projects, and financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of progressive tax consulting experience, preferably with at least three years focused on international taxation (Inbound preferred)
- Experience with a large accounting firm, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or other business-related field, or J.D. (focused on tax)
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in U.S. tax compliance and consulting
- Prior experience in handling international tax, US partnership tax, familiarity with book-tax adjustments (US), familiarity with financial statements and tax provision calculations (IFRS), familiarity with withholding tax would be highly preferred.
Preferred :
- Proficient to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Tools (Excel/Word/Outlook).
- Strong communication skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to work with colleagues virtually and at different time zones.
- Detail oriented but able to look at the big picture, team player and self-motivated
- Must have the ability to work independently and meet various strict deadlines
- Have strong analytical and communication skills.
- Being a rigorous and accurate person and value flexibility.
- Willingness to learn and master tax compliance and research matters for different jurisdictions where Deloitte Global has reporting obligations
