We are hiring, this is a newly formed, super cool company looking for a Senior Data Architect.
The Sr. Data Architect will be responsible for leaderships, design, implementation, and management of the organization's data architecture, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility across all systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable data models, optimize data flow and collection, and support the data needs of various departments within the organization. The Senior Data Architect will also play a crucial role in establishing best practices, standards, and procedures for data management, analytics, and governance.

As a Senior Data Architect you will
- Design and implement scalable, robust data architectures that meet the organization’s current and future data needs.
- Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data integration solutions that ensure data consistency, quality, and security.
- Define data storage strategies, including data warehousing, data lakes, and distributed data systems.
- Lead the design and development of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from multiple sources into a unified system.
- Optimize data flows and processes for efficiency, ensuring data is processed in a timely and reliable manner.
- Manage and optimize cloud and on-premises data environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data integrity, compliance, and security.
- Work closely with the IT security team to implement data security measures, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and other IT professionals to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior data architects, data engineers, and other team members in best practices and data architecture principles.
- Lead data architecture review sessions and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in data architecture and management.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, and tools to enhance the organization’s data capabilities.
- Lead the implementation of new data technologies and ensure their successful integration into the existing environment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture, data models, and data management processes.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management on data architecture status, risks, and future needs.

What you need to qualify Senior Data Architect
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data architectures for large-scale, complex systems.
- Strong experience with data modeling, database design, and data warehousing.
- Extensive experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, and other database technologies.
- Strong understanding of data management, data governance, and data security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer
Skills:
$140,000 - $170,000 a year
