Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Patient Transport Trainer is responsible for developing and maintaining training for all patient transport staff. Work is performed independently and requires exercising good judgement. May be called upon to assist with other duties as needed. Ensures transport staff is well trained and maintains competencies throughout their employment.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in developing and conducting education programs including new hire onboarding and ongoing education and competency validation within the department.
• Orients all new staff to their job responsibilities both in a group setting and 1:1 training.
• Conducts new employee assessments throughout training and completes competency forms to determine if training is complete or if additional training is needed. Identify ongoing training needs by evaluating employee skills.
• Create training programs to address skills gaps in employees.
• Develop and maintain a schedule to assess training needs.
• Consult with supervisors, managers, and leadership to provide feedback on development and improvement opportunities.
• Performs Patient Transporter responsibilities.
• Performs Patient Greeter responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required:

• High School equivalency
• Two years’ experience transporting patients.

Preferred:

• Previous experience as a trainer in a healthcare setting
• Primary source of verification
