RN - MEDICAL SURGICAL CHARGE

POSITION SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates the daily activities of the Med/Surg department to provide continuity of quality nursing services. Provides patient care expertise through the coordination, direction and education of nursing staff and clerical personnel. Assures patient's needs are met through appropriate daily staffing of the department. Collaborates with the Nursing Director to improve the overall performance of the nursing department. Does not normally take a patient care assignment but is a resource to the Med/Surg staff and assists as needed to meet patient care needs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • 3 years of Nursing - Acute Care experience.
  • State of Alaska RN Licensure.
  • BLSP, ACLS, & PALS from the American Heart Association

According to the Collective Bargaining Agreement 4.3.1 all charge nurse roles at CPH require two years of experience in a staff nurse role, one of which must be at CPH.  ACLS is also required.
