Position Purpose: Provides ongoing training and professional development to improve the overall quality of nursing care at Saint Anthony Hospital. Identifies training and development needs and implements processes to enhance clinical performance. The emphasis of the position is to cultivate the clinical and interpersonal skills sets
Essential Duties
- Researches, selects, adapts, tests, and delivers inservices, continuing education programs, ongoing competencies, and other group learning experiences based on identified educational and training needs.
- Plans, coordinates and conducts general and unit specific nursing orientation to ensure nursing competency.
- Develops educational evaluation tools to measure the quality and effectiveness of education/training. Continually seeks opportunities to improve educational efforts.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures; objectives;safety, environmental and infection control standards; and achieves expectations for continuing education/development.
- Participation in performance improvement activities, including problem identification, data collection, solution, selection, implementation, and evaluation
- Performs both essential and marginal job functions safely as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital and Ascension Health in all interactions with others.
General Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Associates in Nursing; Bachelors preferred.
- Current IL State RN licensure
- 3 years of nursing experience in a ICU unit is highly preferred
- Team and customer service skills
- Computer skills - windows and database systems
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills
- CPR instructor certification is required
- Able to work collaboratively with patient care service management to identify educational and training needs
- Able to identify and utilize educational resources
- Able to identify and evaluate staff educational needs
- Full vaccination against Covid-19
