What are we looking for?

We are looking for a full-time UI Shopify Developer to join our team! You will work with our developers, designers and clients across the globe to support their visions for their products and services.

We are looking for an individual to join one of our client teams. We need a professional, detail-oriented team player with the ability to accomplish results as a team leader and as an individual contributor managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment. All of our developers are client-facing; therefore, we want you to be comfortable communicating your thoughts and ideas to clients on a regular basis.

Day to day responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with designers, researchers, project managers, quality analysts, and other developers to plan and implement interactive experiences for agency work.
• Think through project challenges to provide recommendations and out of the box solutions.
• Lead technology discussions for client interactions.
• Research and evaluate new technologies that may improve performance and the elegance of how we work.

Ideal qualifications

• Solid experience (3+ years minimum) in UI or Frontend Development with a proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and JAVASCRIPT
• Experience working with clients to gauge expectations. Ability to translate brief to actionable work, execute against requirements, and demo work while adhering to feedback from client to deliverable
• Ability to own sprint tasks and burn down
• Solid experience in developing CSS3 styles straight and through SASS. Deep knowledge of SASS features and how it works, strongly desired.
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as VueJs and ReactJS
• Excellent problem solving and debugging skills with the DOM.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Experience using GIT as a version control system with a team.
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that the application will adhere to them.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
  Familiarity with tools such as Sketch or Figma.
• Familiarity developing on Shopify
• Design and develop Shopify themes using Liquid.
• Design and develop headless Shopify themes using Oxygen and Hydrogen.
• Integrate Shopify's storefront API with custom front-end solutions.
• Implement and maintain server-side rendering (SSR) for performance optimization.
• Collaborate with back-end developers to ensure seamless data flow and API integration.
• Optimize headless architectures for speed, SEO, and user experience.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to headless implementations.
• Understanding and implementing server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) to optimize performance and SEO. Ensuring compatibility with Shopify's Storefront API and managing data fetching strategies.
• Managing the deployment and hosting aspects of headless architectures on Shopify's Oxygen platform. Optimizing the performance and scalability of custom headless implementations.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in headless commerce technologies.

Preferred skills & technologies

• High-level communication skills, being able to communicate complex technical concepts and ideas for non-technical audiences
• Exposure to GraphQL in client or server environments
• Full-stack experience with languages such as JavaScript, PHP, Lambdas
• Experience working with AWS cloud platform services such as S3, CloudFront, and Lambda
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL
• Ability to quickly learn a wide range of languages and tools
• Experience working at a professional services company such as a marketing agency or consulting firm 
• Experience managing complex web development projects 
• Experience working in the eCommerce industry
• Extensive experience with Shopify, including headless implementations.
• Proficiency in ReactJS, and modern front-end technologies. - Strong understanding of headless commerce architecture and server-side rendering.
• Experience with Shopify's Oxygen and Hydrogen frameworks.
• Experience integrating with Content Management Systems. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Physical demands requirements

Common office/desk environment that involves long periods of time at a stationary desk with extensive computer work that requires repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

 
 

The annual salary range of USD $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 is commensurate to several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to years of experience, skill set / qualifications, and geographical work location considering differences in cost of living, therefore, actual base pay offered may vary.
