This is a work from home role supporting Messino Cancer Centers in Asheville NC.

Canddidates are required to hold a current ODS (Oncology Data Specialist) or CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) both prior to hire and at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary: The Cancer Registrar is part of the care team dedicated to the highest quality of care for the hematology/oncology patient population and their families. The Cancer Registrar is directly responsible to the Office Manager and has daily reporting responsibilities to the Clinical Management Team while working collaboratively with the nursing and clinical operations teams. The Cancer Registrar is responsible for identifying, abstracting, and maintaining records for all eligible cancer cases in the cancer data base. The Cancer Registrar supports the mission of the Company and works with others in a team environment providing optimal patient care.


 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: This job requires this education and/or experience background. Other desirable or preferred education and/or experience may be listed.
• Associate’s degree in Health Information Management preferred.
2. Previous Experience:
• At least 5 years experience with cancer registry chart abstraction preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and cancer staging required; coursework in anatomy and physiology desired.
