Ken Garff Automotive Group is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to focus on our accounts payable function. The selected individual will help with the invoice review, data entry, account reconciliation, and other accounting processes at its corporate office. The Staff Accountant will be a member of the corporate Accounting team, reporting to the Corporate Controller, and will also work with the dealership accounting offices, intercompany departments and entities, and external suppliers as needed.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Execute monthly billing.
- Review billing for accuracy, and work with Executives and Management to correct and finalize as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects are properly set up and maintained in the company's accounting system, that expenses are recorded to the project correctly and that revenue on the project is recognizable with construction accounts.
- Ensuring that invoices are received by clients, that they are complete and will be processed for payment.
- Following up on past due invoices and attempting to rectify any issues that may be holding up payment.
- Maintain and update project information as required for construction accounts.
- Administer aging of A/R reports.
- File all related paperwork in vendor files.
- Input AP Invoices and ensure weekly payment runs are on schedule.
- Administer aging of A/P reports.
- Conduct vendor audits to ensure all information is accurate and up to date including COI information.
- Assist with month/year end close, financial reporting.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and employee data, to include vendor and customer information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivelant
- Excel knowledge and ability to analyze data within excel
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with audit requirements, documentation, and preparation
- Experience with Oracle and Quickbooks not required but beneficial
- Construction accounting experience not required but beneficial
