DEKORON WIRE & CABLE LLC

Shift Time: 10pm-8am

Essential Duties:

• Strive to achieve continuous improvement in all activities, processes, and with all projects at Dekoron.
• Understands and follows safety practices and the ability to promote safety in all processes and activities.
• Ability to perform quality work without supervision.
• Load payoff(s) using hoist.
• Load with sub-assembly to properly correspond with lay-up chart.
• Load tapes, binder and fillers as required on appropriate payoff equipment.
• Set-up equipment with proper dies, gear ratios, tensions, payoff angles to perform function and perform external setups while in operation.
• Operate main equipment and auxiliary equipment to perform function
• Maintain manufacturing control system paperwork (line logs, move tickets, etc.)
• Inspect product/samples for quality acceptance and maintain logs, SPC forms, etc. as required.
• Unload completed product using hoist
• Clean equipment, tools, etc.
• Maintain work area housekeeping and assists in department housekeeping
• Understanding and knowledge of when to report unusual conditions, defective material, or equipment to a supervisor in a timely manner.
• Ability to follow correct procedures for Kanban of insulated wire, bare drain wire, and shielding tapes
• Communicates with other shift operators as to schedule and/or problems
• Assists with training of new employees; assists with cross-training of current employees
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• High School education or equivalent, required.
• Technical training, preferred
• Licenses or certifications are not required for this position, but preferred

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

• Ability to process information to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, verify information or data.
• Ability to monitor and review information to detect and assess problems.

Ability to read the following instruments is preferred, but not required:

Incumbent will be required to use or operate the following:

• Buncher machines
• Hoist
• Taping heads
• Wire payoffs
• Soldering fixture and torch
• Hand tools
• Pi tape
• Scales
• Bare wire Respool

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

• Indoors, environmentally controlled; outdoors, in all types of weather
• Importance of being exact and accurate
• Communicate with other Dekoron team members by telephone, radio, in written form, or in person.
• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving of the whole body, such as climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, and handling of material.  Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
• Spend time using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Spend time standing, as well as sitting, bending, squatting, and reaching
• Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
• Spend time making repetitive motions
• Importance of being exact or accurate
• Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
