Job Responsibilities:
- Audit all operating Divisions for OSHA compliance and preventive safety activities.
- Formulate and maintain general safety policies and programs for the Corporate office and or Divisions.
- Resource, develop and conduct effective safety training programs for Chiefs’ Division employees in hazard identification, prevention, and compliance topics.
- Investigate all OSHA complaints.
- Participate in accident investigations. Follow up with each Division representative on first report of injuries to verify Root Cause is determined in an effort to prevent reoccurrence.
- Work closely with the division safety coordinators to evaluate workplace ergonomic issues and early intervention health strategies to minimize injuries.
- Conduct research on environmental policies and laws as requested by Chief Managers or Divisions.
- Manage and maintain all documentation/calculations regarding waste, water and air, status, compliance to permits, facility operations and any other environmental reports as required.
- Prepare and submit all necessary permit applications and reports required by local, state and /or federal environmental regulations for all of Chief Industries, Inc.
- Regularly review permit requirements to assess compliance with all operating permits.
- Establish a communication link between state and federal environmental authorities and Chief Industries, Inc.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Environmental, Health, and Safety position in manufacturing and construction environments
- Working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local environmental regulations pertaining to waste, water, and air
- Working knowledge of current State and Federal OSHA regulations for General Industry and Construction
- Experience in monitoring and reporting in systems such as CDX, TRI, SLEIS, NET DMR and other State and local reporting systems
- Knowledge in industry and best practices regarding safety and environmental approaches.
