What you’ll do:
- Provide the Product Circularity Director support in executing company-wide sustainability programs by providing oversight and bringing synergy to multiple initiatives by establishing courses of action for self and others.
- Assist in the development and execution of the annual corporate sustainability reporting for Mohawk Industries and work across the entire business (FNA) to gather data, stories, and other relevant Product Circularity information.
- Lead and serve as project manager for multiple programs such as Living Product Challenge, Hand printing programs, and social impact (Just label), and provide the team strategic direction on implementation of these.
- Research, analyze, and support client-specific strategies regarding sustainability certifications and advise the team on pathways for leadership in the industry.
- Develop tools and resources, sustainability product specifications for commercial sales force to provide them a competitive platform in the marketplace. Research competitive landscape, identify gaps, and advise the team on additional tools needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, product, marketing) to develop appropriate solutions and communications for product certifications.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, engineering, business, environmental science or related field
- Master’s degree preferred and/or relevant experience
- 1-3 years of professional experience in relevant areas, with a strong preference for the built environment
- LEED/BREEAM experience (LEED AP preferred)
- Additionally, WELL AP, LFA, ISSP, GRI preferred
What you’re good at:
- Knowledge of multiple sustainability programs and building certifications, professional experience in multiple certifications required
- Understanding of building products (expand on built environment) and material health and social, environmental sustainability issues required
- Comfortable with public speaking and networking
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to strategically envision, anticipate and prepare for future challenging situations, to accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks, to set objectives and goals and measure performance against goals, and to anticipate and adjust for problems and roadblocks while providing relevant solutions
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact, negotiate, exercise discretion, judgment and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers and executive management
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate skillfully with both internal and external groups, to win concessions and settle differences without damaging relationships, and to be direct, forceful and diplomatic to gain trust of other parties to the negotiations
- Ability to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the work of collaborative partners and teams and to foster cooperative relationships with Mohawk, Dal-Tile, and Unilin business units, regulatory agencies, and federal, state and local government entities
