Consultant, Curriculum Writer

Responsibilities:

• Write teacher-facing lesson plans based on activities designed by Curriculum Developers

  • Explain complex mathematical concepts in a way all teachers can understand

  • Maintain alignment to product guidelines and editing style guides

  • Monitor coherence across lesson plans

  • Ensure clarity in how to implement activities and the intended mathematical outcomes 

• Iterate lesson plans based on feedback

• Internalize state & national standards, mathematical progressions, and relevant research to incorporate in teacher-facing materials

• Collaborate with Curriculum Developers to ensure lesson plans align with the intent of the lesson activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree required 

• At least 5 years experience teaching math in a grades 4-6 setting

• Expertise in mathematical standards and progressions

• Superlative writing skills 

• Ability to be self-motivated and work autonomously

• Commitment to MIND’s mission to mathematically equip all students to solve the world’s most challenging problems

• Humility & commitment to continual learning

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ST Math

• Experience designing assessments

• Instructional coaching experience in mathematics

• Single subject math credential (e.g., elementary math specialist)

• National Board Certification

This part time position (25 hours a week) is part of the Curriculum and Instruction Team and reports to the Manager of Curriculum and Instruction. This is a fully remote role, and can be anywhere in the United States, as long as you don't mind turning on your webcam to build a rapport, even from a distance.
