Primary Activities and Responsibilities
- Manage and triage incoming calls related to Positive Train Control issues.
- Develop and execute processes needed to effectively manage the PTC support area.
- Manage interaction between operations and other PTC departments to facilitate the resolution of issues while minimizing operational impact.
- Provide dashboard measurements of PTC system health.
- Audit incidents within the PTC system to ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
- Manage and monitor incidents to resolution relating to issues with foreign railroad's PTC systems.
- Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree/2-year Degree
- 3 or more years of experience in Train Dispatching Systems, Communications and Signals (C&S), Locomotive Mechanical, or Technology related to Train Dispatching, Communications and Signals or Locomotive Mechanical
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 or more years of experience in Train Dispatching Systems, Communications and Signals (C&S), Locomotive Mechanical, or Technology related to Train Dispatching, Communications and Signals or Locomotive Mechanical
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
- 5 or more years of experience in Train Dispatching Systems, Communications and Signals (C&S), Locomotive Mechanical, or Technology
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulatory standards
- Knowledge of Train Dispatching System software
- Leadership skills
- C&S concepts and maintenance
- Ionix or CA Tool suite
- Ability to evaluate information to make decisions, solve problems, and progress issues to closure
- Train Dispatching System software
- Technology/Network Communications
- Ability to collaborate with other teams and/or across organizations to resolve issues.
