Job Title: Battery Module Mechanical Engineer
Worksite: 190 W. Tasman Drive, San Jose, CA 95134
What You’ll Do
-Design mechanical components of the energy and power dense ESS
powering Archer's FAA type certified eVTOL airtaxi.
-Develop designs meeting required mechanical, electrical, and thermal
specifications unique to a lithium-ion battery system.
-Utilize lightweight materials and clever packaging solutions to reduce
weight.
-Perform hand calculations of designs followed by optimization in FEA
software packages.
-Build and test designs to ensure first articles meet functional
requirements.
-Work with the test and integration teams to ensure performance
requirements are met at both the bench and aircraft levels.
-Participate in design reviews to ensure cross functional alignment and
solicit feedback.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or
Electrical Engineering and experience as a Sr. Battery Mechanical Engineer
or any job title or occupation in which 2 years of experience in high voltage
battery design and integration was gained.
ALTERNATE EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or
Electrical Engineering and 1 year of experience in high voltage battery
design and integration.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have coursework in Electrochemistry, Energy
Storage Systems Engineering, Composite Structures with the Master’s degree.
