Environmental Factors
Work is performed in a standard office setting, but some travel may be required for which private means of transportation should be available. Some maintenance work on assigned equipment may be necessary and some work outside of regular work schedule may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science;
OR
Associate's degree in computer science or college-level coursework that includes 15 computer science credits AND two (2) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.
OR
Four (4) or more years of experience in computer or network support, programming or analysis, or database administration.

Overview
The Agency of Digital Services (ADS) is hiring an Information Technology Systems Administrator II to join the IT team serving to Agency of Natural Resources (ANR) and Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets (AAFM). This position is part of the server administration team responsible for maintaining and operating the server infrastructure that the AAFM and ANR web database applications and systems run on to deliver online services to staff and Vermont citizens. This position will primarily assist with day to day Windows server administration and monitoring tasks, enterprise application support and providing excellent customer service supporting both internal IT staff as well as our Agency customers. Specific duties of the IT Systems Administrator II include:
- Providing support to internal IT staff, primarily desktop support staff on supporting imaging, software deployment, and user account management
- Design, install and configure internal and customer facing servers, software, and services
- Proactively manage and maintain servers, antivirus, product updates
- Administer and support Active Directory Domain Services, printing services, file restores
- Define and document best practices and support procedures
- Identify opportunities to automate tasks via PowerShell scripting
- Assisting with larger project work
The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for learning new technology. This person will have a solid understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and client Operating Systems as well as Active Directory Domain Services. Experience with Office 365 preferred. Candidate must be focused and driven to see assigned tasks and projects through to fruition.
Please note that some work outside of normal hours may be required for monthly systems maintenance.
