- Understands the process, temperatures and safety requirements of the machine.
- Sets limit switches.
- Safe handling of zinc ingot in melting pot.
- Maintains tooling and understands what is critical for operating the machine.
- Makes machine adjustments as needed.
- Understands the operator interface system.
- Ensures tooling is maintained and serviced as needed.
- Leads Power Board discussions.
- Ensures Safety, Quality, Cost and 5s standards are followed and met.
- Performs preventative maintenance.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and communicate clearly.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract six digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
Previous experience using a computer for data entry required. HMI and PLC experience required. Mechanical aptitude required. Use of the following tools: micrometer, calipers, miscellaneous hand tools. Must be able to pass a driver's exam to operate a forklift.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk, hear, climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move 25 to 60 pounds (30% of the time lifting 40+ pounds). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. Must be able to operate a fork lift and other mobile equipment. Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and physical fitness exam.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The PPE required for this position covers the majority of the upper body and must be worn at all times while operating machine. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
