Duties/Responsibilities

Directly supervise a team of Producers, Associate Producers, and Writers to produce compelling and visually appealing news programs.

Ensure that news content is balanced, accurate, and meets the station's standards for high quality and journalistic integrity.

Lead editorial calls, manage rundowns, approve scripts, and contribute to other newsroom planning.

Work with primary hosts, contributing reporters, and other newsroom journalists to plan content and production of news programs.

Set weekly production schedules including scheduling editing time and planning shoots with photojournalists.

Recruit, train, and develop News staff.
-
Manage, evaluate, and monitor employee performance on an ongoing basis.

Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.

Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements.

Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
-
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
-
In-depth knowledge of development and execution of local newscasts, criminal law, public records, investigative reporting, court systems, and government agencies.

Strong digital footprint and understanding of how to leverage content in the digital space to enhance broadcast products.

Strong writing and copy-editing abilities

Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently under daily pressure and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergency scenarios.
Education and Experience
-
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a TV newsroom as a major market producer or smaller market news manager.

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.
Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The general schedule for this position is nightside Sunday to Thursday. However, the news is a 24/7 world that could include other shifts or additional hours to accommodate breaking news, vacation relief or other events, as news warrants.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $110,000.00-119,000.00 annually for Washington. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
