What We’re Looking For:
The Studio Logistics Specialist is primarily responsible for supporting studio operations efforts. This role involves assisting in supervising and overseeing all logistical aspects related to the execution, organization, and timetable management of filming projects across various product lines and locations. This position requires working closely with the Video Production team and other key members of the Learning Team to aid in the coordination of filming assignments and scheduling requests, covering studio, on-location, and remote shoots. The specialist’s responsibilities include assisting with maintaining comprehensive, organized tracking and scheduling systems that manage all phases of the logistical process, including but not limited to video producer assignments, location and filming scheduling, and equipment checkout. The duties encompass organizational, logistical, and creative elements. The ideal candidate for this coordinating position should possess excellent attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to quickly devise solutions in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Assist with fielding and organizing video producer assignment and production requests for filming various products, whether it be in the HQ studio, on location, or remote.
- Aid in gathering information from partners and travel agencies essential to creating efficient schedules and managing travel logistics for clients/partners involved in filming projects.
- Support in maintaining a global calendar that enables forecasting and provides clear visibility of filming availability for use by other Learning Teams and 2U employees.
- Support on-set or mid-recording modifications and adjustments in real-time.
- Work with production vendors to identify suitable equipment, recording locations or sound stages for on location filming
- Negotiate with staffing agencies to identify and source freelance crew, as needed, for filming purposes
Things That Should Be In Your Background:
- At least 3 years of work experience in professional media-production setting
- Availability for long production days and a flexible work schedule
- Support managing travel arrangements for clients/partners
- Support upkeep of tracking and scheduling systems for accuracy and efficiency
- Preferred, though not required, a degree in a media-related course of study
This role requires on-site presence at 2U Headquarters in Lanham, MD.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $60,000-69,000, with potential bonus eligibility. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, budget for the position and cost of labor in the market in which the candidate will be hired.
