Your remit will span a range of tasks, from drafting and reviewing contracts tailored to the SaaS and EdTech sectors, to establishing compliance norms and fostering collaboration with multiple internal teams. Your expertise will be pivotal in sculpting and sustaining systems that assure all our legal assets are structured and easily accessible.

Responsibilities

- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts, with a focus on SaaS and EdTech agreements for both vendors and customers.
- Work with inhouse counsel to review and quality assure a variety of inbound and outbound SaaS and EdTech commercial agreements.
- Ensure internal company compliance with legal standards, occasionally focusing on data privacy and security relevant to the SaaS and EdTech sectors.
- Provide overflow support for inhouse counsel, including reviewing and negotiating various contracts.
- Own and enforce organizational legal compliance, especially as it pertains to the software and educational tech landscapes.
- Provide a second set of eyes on contracts prior to approval.
- Maintain open communication with stakeholders about ongoing legal considerations and industryspecific standards.
- Develop processes and organizational systems that maintain order and accessibility of legal documents and contracts.
- Keep legal training materials and best practices updated with trends in the SaaS and EdTech industries.
- Monitor organizational activities to ensure compliance with legal standards specific to SaaS and EdTech, which may include regular meetings with leadership.
Job Requirements

- Law degree and bar certification in good standing from any US state.
- At least 5 years of experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in the SaaS and/or EdTech spaces.
- Working knowledge of SaaS and EdTech legal requirements, with understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy laws as a plus.
- At least 2 years experience working specifically with SaaS or EdTech companies.
- At least 1 year of project management experience.
