Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide overall marketing supervision and management of the marketing team and associated members including hiring, training, goal setting and reporting.
- Oversee all marketing and PR efforts for Barrett-Jackson. These efforts include all advertising, media strategy, promotions, PR, social media, and marketing operations.
- Media buying including strategy, planning, agency supervision, budgeting, placements, and execution.
- Develop marketing strategy for expansion into new markets.
- Collaborate with sponsorship team on sales pitches and provide input into new partnerships.
- Manage external relationships, including advertising and promotion agencies, media contacts, etc.
- Establish consistency of brand message (print & digital) across multiple networks.
- Coordinate and direct the planning and execution of Barrett-Jackson's involvement in events such as SEMA, Monterey car week, etc.
- Work with senior level team to ensure proper messaging is being distributed.
- Negotiate and facilitate on-site promotional programs.
- Work closely with TV partner to ensure consistent messaging.
- Achieve marketing and PR goals and metrics as set by the Executive team.
- Compile, maintain and update as appropriate marketing research data.
- Coordinate and manage event on-site including onsite media center and the marketing team's roles and responsibilities during each event.
- Oversee corporate communications activities through external communications and internal communications.
- Work closely with partners to ensure consistent marketing objectives and messaging.
Education and/or Experience:
- 10+ plus years of experience in a marketing role at a large sports, track and/or live event company or venue is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience in live event marketing. MBA is preferred.
- Automotive experience preferred.
- Significant experience in developing advertising, new products, media plans, and working with sales personnel.
- Ability to coordinate high work volume and pressing time requirements.
- Ability to make sound business decisions after careful analysis of research data/surveys.
- Effective time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
