DuBois Chemicals develops, manufactures, distributes and supports proprietary specialty chemical and equipment products for a broad range of industrial, resource industries and commercial applications, fulfilling mission-critical customer needs.
DuBois Chemicals is looking for a high performing Business Development Manager to manage and develop Lower Mainland BC area and South America (especially Colombia) with a focus on the Mining Industry and Terminal Operations. The Business Development Manager will sell chemical solutions that address dust suppression, antifreeze, spontaneous combustion inhibition and antiscalant technologies for hard rock and coal mines, terminals and pulp and paper operations, as well as other process chemical additives aligned specifically with our customer’s operational goals.
DuBois Chemicals Canada, Resource Division, is a leading manufacturer of dust suppression, spontaneous combustion inhibition, antifreeze, antiscalants and other products for conveyance, storage and processing of materials such as sulphur, mineral ores, and coal. Support of our continuing product development efforts and active customer projects necessitates the addition of Business Development Manager to manage customer relationships from executive level through to operations, participate in pump, tank, and associated spray equipment installations, maintenance and support. DuBois is committed to ecologically responsible chemistry and is continuing to develop proprietary “green” products.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Develop new sales leads and business,
- Manage customer business relationships in the sales region which includes but not limited to British Columbia, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
- Work closely with DuBois Technical Service Representatives and customer operations personnel to solve customer problems, install and repair application systems and support chemical applications with customers.
- Knowledge of industrial safety procedures, safe driving practices, safe work procedures are
key elements as the work and travel conditions can be dangerous. - Report to the Resource Sector RSM, Americas/APAC
- Growth targets for sales are 10% per year
- Travel 25-30%, working at remote sites may be necessary.
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical/Engineering Technology is preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in heavy industry or manufacturing
- Valid driver’s license required
- Knowledge of dust suppression and other chemical application systems is required
- Ability to manage complex, large customer accounts independently.
- Hands-on ability to repair, install and troubleshoot application systems is required
- Previous sales training is preferred
- Strong communication skills – ability to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Programming logic for application systems is a strong benefit
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round at customer sites.
- Ability to build strong relationships with customers and industry personnel.
