We are looking for a Senior Principal, IP Product to join our IP Laws team. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a law engine that will be utilized by Clarivate proprietary products and services, including an IP Portfolio Management system. You will be one of the primary Subject Matter Experts during the development of the law engine and work with the product owner, product manager, QA and IP Laws implementation manager. In addition, you will contribute to defining IP Laws team requirements, best practices, and IP workflows and track progress
About You – Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal degree required
5+ years in the intellectual property industry and with solid experience in Portfolio Management software, docketing practice, and IP Law calculations
5+ years of advanced knowledge and understanding of Patent rules, procedures, and prosecution workflow of the USPTO, EPO, PCT, WIPO and other national and international governing bodies

Understanding of SQL Server (e.g., tables, advanced queries)
Experience in project management and business process development
US Patent Agent Registration or Intellectual Property Paralegal experience
What will you be doing in this role?
Analyze data, perform gap analysis, map PTO (Patent & Trademark Office) (Patent & Trademark Office) forms to end-user data entry points and document IP workflows for law engine
Execute against strategy to keep the law engine up to date with the jurisdiction law changes and take part in coordinating the deliverables associated with each IP law client content release, adhering to agreed/defined release frequencies
Collaboratively solve for complex IP Law and docketing updates by participating in designing and implementing specific business solutions
Timely review, accurately translate, and implement IP law business requirements into technical solutions or system rules and conduct related user acceptance testing
Escalate and assist in resolving issues with law related functionality of the consuming software, law interface and upgrade tools interacting with colleagues in IP Laws, product and software developers
Collaborate closely with the IP Laws Customer Solutions team to help facilitate prompt comprehensive responses to our clients, including communicating directly with the client(s) on issues and education
Build out documentation on implementation processes and best practices for the law
About the Team
Our team is responsible for providing periodic releases of IP law updates to our clients in accordance with new laws or law changes. The main purpose of this role is to contribute to coordinating the analysis, interpretation, implementation, testing of new or modified intellectual property laws into the law engine utilized by Clarivate proprietary products and services including an IP Management Software System. Subsequently, the law updates are published to customers including release notes and other related documentation. This enables customers to keep their IP portfolio up to date. Additionally, this individual will support the manager in working with the product teams on existing and new technical solutions. This role will report to the Senior Manager, IP Product.
Hours of Work
Full Time w/ occasional flexibility to accommodate meetings with other time zones/regions (namely Europe and India)
