Job Description: This role participates in audits of the company’s information technology-related processes, including testing of systems and applications under the scope of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This position works closely with the information technology team, as well as business process owners at each of our components. The IT Internal Auditor influences the design and testing of internal controls over financial reporting.  Additionally, the IT Internal Auditor partners with IT and certain business functions on operational audits and consultations.  This position can be located anywhere in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides suggestions and advice in design of IT controls, execution and reporting of results
  • Plans and executes IT infrastructure, general computer control audits, business process/application controls review, systems development/conversion reviews and compliance management engagements
  • Tests the effectiveness of the company’s key IT controls and provides guidance on remediation of testing failures
  • Provides assessment and evaluation of information technology infrastructure and business application and makes recommendations to mitigate IT-related risks
  • Creates and maintains various technology-based solutions designed to allow for the analysis of big data; knowledge and use of data analytics tools is a plus
  • Plans and executes IT internal audits comprised of research, planning, engagement meeting, testing, exit meeting, report writing, and follow-up testing
  • Participates in performing the IT portion of business-related operational audits and consultations
  • Consults with business process owners on an ad hoc basis to provide guidance on best practices
  • Provides anti-fraud consultations on an ad hoc basis
  • Travel: may require up to 20% domestic and 10% international travel
REQUIREMENTS
  • BA/BS degree in information systems, computer science, or related field
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in areas of information technology, such as IT Audits, IT infrastructure, application reviews, and network/firewall testing.
  • Relevant certifications (CIA, CISA, or CISSP) preferred
  • Familiarity with COSO 2013, PCAOB auditing standards and ISO 27001
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Secondary emphasis on Visio and Access.
  • Data analytics is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively interact and build relationships with a diverse employee population
  • Strong risk management experience, including: performing assessments and audits, working collaboratively with business and IT process owners designing controls for new lines of business/acquisitions and/or providing input to remediation plans (as necessary)
  • Superior project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and a keen sense of professional skepticism.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with an interest in leadership opportunities.
This is a remote position that may be performed anywhere except the state of Colorado.
