Job Description: SoCal Search Group a leader in staffing and recruiting has teamed up with a well known retail client who is looking to add to their team. Senior Accountant Job Description: • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process for areas, including accruals, adjustments, and reversing journal entries • Responsible for submission of business registrations, regulatory tax filings, including monthly sales tax filings • Maintain the fixed asset account and depreciation/amortization schedules • Perform cost accounting function • Support special “one-off” projects on an ad-hoc basis • Support overall department goals and objectives • Focus on process improvements Qualifications: • 3+ years accounting experience preferred • Bachelor’s degree Business/Accounting/ Finance preferred • Experience in retail/wholesale/consumer products industry preferred • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • A proactive person who can multitask, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment • Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency • Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
