Job Description: ADABAS DBA / NATURAL Administrator / EntireX Specialist Location: Remote Client: State of Texas The Candidate must be able to: Work in the IBM mainframe environment using related IBM utilities and 3rd party software products. Plan, install, maintain, upgrade, and administer Adabas, Natural (and related subproducts such as, but not limited to: Natural Security, Natural for DB2, Natural/VSAM, Natural Development Server, RPC servers, etc.), Natural Engineer, Predict and PAC in a z/OS mainframe environment, and provide documentation for all software changes. Plan, install, maintain, upgrade, and administer EntireX Broker, webMethods Integration Server and Command Central products in a RedHat Enterprise Linux environment, and provide documentation for all software changes. Plan, prepare and coordinate the installation of NaturalONE into Windows client desktops, and provide documentation for all software changes. Plan, install, maintain, upgrade, and administer Natural Engineer in a Windows Enterprise Server environment, and provide documentation for all software changes. Coordinate testing, debugging, and preparing of test data, and interact with technical and non- technical staff in the coordination of changes. Coordinate and/or submit mainframe change requests and implement during Sunday maintenance (5 am to 10 am) for Production changes and major Test environment changes. Provide technical support for users and mainframe software developers for related issues. Research mainframe related problems, technical or performance related, and coordinate and/or implement solutions. Provide utilization, performance reports and other reports as requested by management. Deliver tested, production-ready software solutions that meet strict availability requirements in a large-scale enterprise environment. Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to existing staff. Participate in and perform mainframe disaster recovery activities for section including but not limited to, participating in disaster recovery hot site exercises, and manage the Natural Administration related jobs and schedules and update related documentation. Oversee studies and prepare reports that include study findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations; formulate logical descriptions of problems; and devise and implement optimum solutions Manage work activities for short- and long-range mainframe related assignments, communicating with management and other team members in a professional, timely and effective manner. And performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirement:Minimum Requirements: Experience with installing and supporting Adabas for the z/OS platform Experience with installing and supporting Natural for the z/OS platform Experience with EntireX enabled Natural RPC servers running on the z/OS platform Experience with MVS/JCL Experience with utility programs and products including: IDCAMS, CLISTS/REXX, SORT, TSO Experience completing technical documentation Experience coordinating the testing, debugging, and preparing of test data and interacting with technical and non-technical staff in the coordination of changes Experience with coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer to team members and other personnel as required Experience with Control/M for z/OS or an equivalent job scheduler Experience with RACF, Natural Security and Active Directory security protocols and highly complex application security requirements Experience with CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Experience with DB2 for z/OS Experience with installing and supporting Predict Application Control (PAC) Experience with installing and supporting EntireX Broker for the RedHat Enterprise Linux platform Experience with installing and supporting webMethods Integration Server in a RedHat Enterprise Linux platform Experience with installing and supporting Command Central in a RedHat Enterprise Linux platform Experience with JES3 and/or JES3Plus Knowledge of the z/OS architecture Experience with installing and supporting Natural Engineer in a z/OS environment and in a Windows Enterprise server environment Proficient with the Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, TEAMS, Microsoft Project, Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint Experience with Mainframe Telecommunication, TCP/IP Knowledge of NaturalONE Experience supporting Disaster Recovery Hot Site testing
