Job Description:

Verasonics is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement the processes, tools, and procedures used for testing in manufacturing. This includes creating automated test scripts, executing test plans on systems configurations, accessories, and equipment, and evaluating designs for manufacturability and testability. You will collaborate cross-functionally with software & hardware engineering, operations,  and/or customer support. This position requires strong documentation, attention to detail & great communication. Innate curiosity and a sense of humor are appreciated!

Essential Responsibilities include: 
  • Manufacturing Test
    • Responsible for manufacturing test of new hardware modules as well as hardware returned from customer service
    • Receive triaged RMA modules, document why module was replaced
    • Support initial diagnosis of hardware failure, work to resolve complex RMAs in a timely manner, and communicate root cause to customers or specifically what failed
    • Determine root cause of returned module, update manufacturing tests for new failure conditions
    • Create/request new test hardware as needed, correct Matlab builds, update test computers, and more
  • Working with Contract Manufacturer (CM)
    • Interface with our CM to design and review manufacturing test documentation for each module, in addition to designing level of test for items that are provided as spares
    • Determine when modules can be sent to CM to debug; debug difficult boards prior to sending to CM
    • Ensure that test equipment in operations and at CM is up to date
    • Ensure that the correct versions are deployed at CM when new software release occurs
    • Provide open chassis diagnostic scripts to help technicians to diagnose failures
    • Collect feedback from CM for improvements to test coverage and also to identify misdirections
    • Coordinating weekly check-in/reviews with vendor for challenges and trends, all while tracking issues and notifying them of new module integration
    • Support CM with troubleshooting as needed
  • Engineering Hardware Development Test
    • Develop hardware test procedures, software as needed, and documentation
    • Write and document peak-poke scripts with the overall goal to develop and expand a library of test scripts
    • Identify areas where test should be developed, bring the ideas to software, hardware and systems engineer for solution when necessary
    • Responsible for tool setup in hardware and ensure there are no delays because of missing items
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, engineering, or computer engineering required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of previous test manufacturing experience, preferably in a complex, technical environment; Ultrasound and/or medical device experience a plus
  • Extensive experience using an oscilloscope to troubleshoot complicated circuit boards and validate schematic diagrams
  • Experience writing and interpreting hardware test scripts without assistance in a variety of languages (preferably C/C++)
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office (especially Excel & Outlook) and CRM (Salesforce experience preferred)
  • Strong organization and ability to successfully juggle multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
